Arena

Arenas are party-based instances for a wide range of character levels. They are accessed via portal entrances or Arena Managers.

Each arena is a timed challenge that rewards bonus experience for each stage that is completed. Arenas can be completed by 1-2 parties of 3 or more characters. Each party member must be within the level bracket for the chosen arena.

PvE arenas involve a single party defeating enemies per stage to advance to the next. PvP arenas are similar to PvE stages, but also include a second party for player versus player combat. Completing a stage grants each party member additional rewards, usually experience.

Mechanics

  • Arena Managers can be found standing outside the entrance portal to each arena. The party leader can talk to them to start their party's instance.
  • Parties must have a minimum of 3 characters and each must be within the level bracket for that instance (eg. Snow Storm/30-35 requires all characters to be level 30 to 35).
  • When the party is summoned into an instance, they are presented with a "Engaging and Notices" window. This summarizes the rules and expectations of the arena.
    • Essentially:
  1. Defeat the monsters in the current stage to progress to the next.
  2. Dead members can be Revived.
  3. Characters can use Visit and Invite.
  4. Position Memorized locations cannot be used outside the instance.
  • Completing a stage grants additional rewards, usually experience, to all participating party members.
  • If the timer runs out before the stage is completed, the stage is failed and all party members are teleported back to the arena entrance to try again.

PvE arenas

Snow Storm is a player versus environment arena found in Palmas and Giants' Territory. Each entrance teleports into the same map, but is instanced per character level bracket. A single party must defeat a number of monsters before the timer runs out to progress to the next stage.

PvP arenas

The Valley of Blood is a player versus player arena found in Midland and Tranquil Swamp. Each entrance teleports into the same map, but is instanced per character level bracket. Two parties must defeat a number of enemies, including the other party members, before the timer runs out to progress to the next stage.

GvG arena

Primary article: Guild vs Guild

The Forest of the Abandoned is the guild versus guild arena located in Tranquil Swamp and Gladshelm; both entrances teleport to the same map. A GvG match can occur every 3? days. Competing guilds can enter with _ parties; all party members must be in one of the registered guilds. The multiple parties compete to earn points based on enemies defeated, both monsters and rival parties, before the time runs out. The winner of the match earns fame for all participating party members and becomes the defender for the next match. The members of the defending guild can freely enter the arena between matches to engage and loot various monsters and world bosses that only spawn in that area.
