Coin is the most common currency, tracked in three denominations: Copper pieces (CP), Gold pieces (GP), and Platinum pieces (PP). Coin is used to purhcase items or services from various merchant NPCs or trading with other players. Coin can be converted to Fame by purchasing Fame Boosters. The amount of coin a character holds is displayed on the bottom of the inventory panel; coin stored in the bank can be shared across all characters on an account.
