Player vs Environment (usually abbreviated as PvE) refers to the activities in the game focused on players, solo or as a party, playing against enemy non-player characters (NPCs) and other game mechanics. PvE is the opposite of Player vs Player (PvP), which is focused on players, solo or as a party, competing against other players. Some areas in the game world incorporate both PvE and PvP elements.
