This article will explain the formatting practices and processes with regards to the documentation of locations. This is merely a recommended guideline. Other writers will come along to fill in the blanks or clean up any mistakes.

Hierarchy & terminology

"Location" is a broad term, and can refer to something as large as a continent, or as small as a section of a hill. Refer to the following definitions:

Continent
This refers to the all-encompassing world map. In FHX, the two continents are Glorious Imperial Territory (V1) and Idios (V3).
Region / Zone
A broad location composed of several areas. Usually, there is a common theme within the zone, such as common monsters, terrain, color palettes, etc. Regions are separated by impassable terrain or invisible walls, the only exits are through portals or an open passage to the connecting region.
