Mercenary is a fighter-for-hire that can join the character on their adventures. They can be hired from a Mercenary Manager once the character reaches level 5.

Mechanics

Hiring

Visit a Mercenary Manager to hire a mercenary.

  • Available mercenaries are within 10-15 levels of the character, the highest available being near equal with the character.
  • Listed cost is the price per hour to hire that mercenary. Once hired, their service term can be extended by 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 hours at the same cost per hour.
  • Note: If the mercenary dies, any outstanding time on their service term is lost.

Call

Clicking Call summons your active mercenary to your side.

Rest

Clicking Rest temporarily dismisses your mercenary so they can heal.

  • Service time does not decrement while resting.
  • Once sent to rest, the mercenary cannot be called again for 15 seconds.

Dismiss

Clicking Dismiss permanently dismisses your mercenary from your service. You must hire a new mercenary before calling them again.

Skills

Each mercenary has known skills appropriate to their class. Lower-level mercenaries know 1 skill, while the higher-level mercenaries know up to 5 skills. Mercenaries will use most of their skills automatically in combat, but they can be manually triggered by pressing F1-F5.

Death

If the mercenary dies, any outstanding time on their service term is lost.

  • You can start a new service term by clicking Extend on the pet bar.
